Day 62

Zero Day in Yosemite Valley

Today we got to be tourists in Yosemite Valley. My biggest takeaway is that Yosemite Valley is incredibly crowded. We hiked the Mist Trail up to Vernal Falls, a very popular 1.5 mile each way hike to a huge waterfall and there were hundreds and hundreds of people on the trail. It was like being in an airport the day before a holiday.

We met up with Tommy D after he finished work and he cooked dinner for us. Then he drove us up to Glacier Point where we looked down on the valley and up at the Milky Way. It was an amazing place to see the stars. I really enjoyed catching up with Tommy and hearing about his summer as a traffic ranger in Yosemite Valley. He is a force to be reckoned with in the NPS. I'm grateful for his hospitality and support!
